Genius & Wacom : pen moue

Graphics design are popular in the world. In a time of technology, high technology provides new computer’s tools to create art work and give more comfort. Today we will see many designers, cartoonists and game creators will use pen mouse (pen tablet). If you want to be one of them in the future or if you want to create excellent work in your free time and if you want to have a great pen mouse for your graphic’s work, there are many brands such as Wacom, Genius, Hanvon and others. In this essay I will compare Wacom and Genius brands of pen mouse subject by subject.

Both are familiar and good for creative work. The first is Genius pen mouse. Genius pen mouse has many size that you can choose for your work. Genius is a new design tablet for you to write or draw freely and handily. At work, you can use Genius pen mouse to give a professional presentation or annotate important notes to your documents. For art, Genius pen mouse works great with any software to edit your digital photos and to create your cartoon and game. In my experience, nowadays I use it when I do my game project to design and create the characters and location in a game. For fun, you can send your handwritten messages to your friends while you're chatting on the Internet that I always use to chat with friends by sending my handwritten or drawing some pictures for fun. In addition, the price of Genius is not expensive but you can create good work by cash in low-cost. Furthermore if you don’t mind with the design you can use Genius because the design of tablet and pen are quite basic if compared Wacom pen mouse.

On the other hand, Wacom pen mouse has wireless pen tablet is just a little smaller than a sheet of A4 paper and has an active area exactly half an A4. Moving the accompanying pen or mouse over that active area moves the cursor across the computer screen. Like all Wacom tablets, this movement can be very precisely controlled. This tablet is wireless and works using Bluetooth, and because there is no lead trailing between tablet and computer, you are free to place the tablet wherever you find most comfortable. For a faster and easier way to work digitally: with the Graphire pen tablet from Wacom, photos, videos and graphics can be edited more precisely than ever before. Add your signature to documents, make a creative drawing or use advanced programs with ease. You will feel like discovering the world of digital image editing! On the contrary, the price of this brand is so expensive than Genius but the design and quality images resultants are better than Genius. In my survey on many websites, most people said, “Wacom is the best with work and worth extra money.” In the future, I wish if I have enough money, I will buy Wacom for myself because it’s really beautiful and makes me fascinated.

In conclusion, you know both are rather different about its performance and price because Wacom is always more expensive, beautiful and has high performance when compared to the Genius. Despite the fact, both of it can give excellent works because both do not limit your imagination. 

Instant Messaing (IM)

Communication is very important nowadays, especially through instant messaging on the internet which is popular and comfortable for everyone. Most people use an instant messaging to communicate with each other. Instant messaging or IM deals with a form of real-time communication between two or more people based on typed text. The text is conveyed via devices connected over a network such as the Internet. IM allows effective and efficient communication, featuring immediate receipt of acknowledgment or reply. In certain cases Instant Messaging involves additional features, which make it even more popular, to talk face to face by using web-cams, or to talk directly for free over the Internet. At present there are many services of IM on the internet such as Window live messenger, Tencent QQ, Skype , Yahoo! Messenger, etc. Here are a few examples of instant messaging services.

First is Tencent QQ, referred to as QQ, is the most popular free instant messaging computer program in Mainland China, and the world’s third most popular IM service. The program is maintained by Tencent Holding Limited. Aside from the chat program, QQ has also developed many subfeatures including games, pets, ringtone downloads, and many more. QQ has many features such as chatrooms, games, personal avatars, internet storage, and internet dating services. Most of these features are free.  Its variety of features and easy-to-use interface made it very popular, especially among teenage users. In a few short years it became the most popular real time communications service in China. The strange truth of Tencent QQ is plagiarism because it has been known to copy its competitors' features. The interface of early version of Tencent messenger was almost the same to ICQ, but as it developed, it started to look more like Windows Live Messenger. In Thailand using Tencent QQ on www.sanook.com and called as sanook! QQ and this program very popular in Thai’s teenagers many years ago.

Second is Windows Live Messenger (it’s also called as MSN) is an instant messaging client created by Microsoft that is currently designed to work with Windows XP, Windows vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows server 2008, and Windows Mobile. The client has been part of Microsoft’s Window Live set of online services since 2005. It connects to Microsoft’s.Net Messenger Service. MSN has several features in a program that are sharing folders, PC-to-phone calls, interoperability, offline messaging, “I’m” initiative, S60 platform and Xbox integration. The first version of Windows Live Messenger is version 1.0. It included only basic features, such as plain text messaging and simplistic contact list. And the latest is the beta version of Windows Lives Messenger 2009 as of Milestone 3. Nowadays, I use MSN for chatting with friends because it has good feature and the interface is easy to use and is beautiful. Worldwide, most people choose Windows Live Messenger for their IM.

The last example of IM is Skype. Skype is a software that allows users to make telephone calls over the internet. Calls to other users of the service and to free-of-charge numbers are free, while calls to other landlines and mobile phones can be made for a fee. Additional features include instant messaging, file transfer and video conferencing. Furthermore, skype has new additional service that is called SkyOut which provides users to pay money when they call from their computers to general phones or mobile phones around the world. Skype is available on mobile devices. On April 24, 2008, Skype announced that they offer Skype on around 50 mobile phones. On October 29, 2007, Skype launched its own mobile phone under the brand name 3 Skypephone, which runs a BREW OS. The official symbian version was developed in 2006 but was not released. Skype has experienced rapid growth in popular usage since the launch of its services. It was acquired by eBay in September 2005 for $2.6 billion. From the research we know that on December 31, 2007 Skype had 276 million user accounts. Users may have more than one account, and it is not possible to identify users with multiple accounts. It was reported that 14,208,194 skype users were online as of December 16, 2008. It means skype is very popular for people around the world.

According to the three examples of instant messaging that I have described, you will know about some history, features and some details of Tencent QQ, Windows Live Messenger and Skype. In the real world, there are more than three programs of instant messaging on the internet which most people around the world use to connect with each other. But the three examples are the most popular and effective. So from the details, we know some points or some features that are different from others. You can try any of them and find out which suits you.

Verdant sphere: a 3-D game to rescue earth.

Games have been regarded as a new study and data center and has interested most youth. Thus, this has an influence on Thai youth, which we can see as there are many formats of today’s games, irrespective of take adventure, fight, speed and so much more. These are all interesting. So for today the creator will has an idea to create the sphere. You can learn more about background of the game, definition, objective and benefit of the verdant sphere in the next part.

Games are familiar in young people, juvenile and including adult people are know many games as fighting, adventure and give only entertainment but don’t give the knowledge and show people to be aware of some serious situation in nowadays. If we had considered about the information in the internet and news we only hear and sometime learn but not conscious about the global warming problem, so for today verdant sphere can remind the people, they can learn and realize about the problem that happened. And on the internet has only 2-dimentions game about global warming that not interesting for the player. So verdant sphere: a 3-D game to rescue earth was created.

The verdant sphere is mean, the earth or sphere will green, fresh and livable. When player play the game, they will feel lively as the name of verdant sphere. The verdant sphere is a 3D game created by a group of students that with the objective reminding people to be aware of the problem of global warming that happen in the present. This game provides the basic character’s perspective to the player. The game is focused on how global warming happened, effect of global warming and the ways to solve the problem that the player will play and learn by the game. For example, to show the effect of global warmin, the player must choose some activity in the game if it wrong the game will show the effect that happened next.

There are many objectives to create verdant sphere such as, to present the global warming problem in 3D game, and to instill to the people to keep the environment better and use available time to do a good job. Verdant sphere uses the 3Ds MAX and DarkBASIC tools to generate and import all of the character’s models and location of the game and game can interact to the youth in 3D that is popular in the present.

            The benefit of the game can be explained for more understanding. For instance, this is one strategy for juveniles to let them know about global warming. Next, to make the youth  aware of the causes and effects of the global warming and to let them know how to decrease this problem. Then, game can develop their knowledge by learning a new technology.  After that, to add the knowledge about the global worming into 3D computer games and make more fun, and lastly, games encourage the player to look at, understand, and experience.

            Although the player can receive knowledge of global warming from the verdant sphere game, however, if people don’t care about the problem that happened next in the future, the verdant sphere game can’t help people to be aware of the problem and doesn’t have advantage to the people. It is important to understand the information and problem of global warming from learning by doing in daily life, which means playing a game and absorbing the good things and purposes of the creator because in a game will told the cause and effect of behavior that the player do in the game that happened the global warming. So player can aware of activities that they do in daily life and problem that will happened next, it can dangerous for the earth in the future.

Evolution of Photoshop

            Everyone has heard of the popular graphics editing software package Photoshop. In this article I will cover the major points of the evolution of Photoshop. Photoshop was developed and distributed by the Adobe Photoshop Company. At the very beginning, it was intended for editing images for printing, but it has also gained popularity as a tool for creating and editing web graphics. This is another reason that it has become so popular. The last Photoshop versions also include the special application - ImageReady, which was added specifically to work with web graphics easier.

             In 1987, Thomas Knoll and John Knoll started developing Photoshop. In 1989 they completed the project and called it Photoshop 1.0. In 1988 it was licensed to Adobe and released, finally, as Photoshop, in 1990. Adobe became interested in this project and the first version of Photoshop was released in 1990. Initially Photoshop was created for the Macintosh platform. Compatibility updates for Windows, IRIX, and Solaris was added later. At present Photoshop can be used on Windows and Macintosh platforms. Photoshop is written in the C++ programming language.  Because of there are several versions of Photoshop, so I will provide only Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Photoshop CS3 and recently version is Adobe Photoshop CS4.

            Beginning from version 8 the product changed its name to Adobe CS. The CS abbreviation means that several applications are now integrated into one software package - Adobe Creative Suite. The following products are included into Adobe Photoshop package: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe GoLive, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Version Cue, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Stock Photos and Dreamweaver 8 (after Macromedia was sold to Adobe). The logo was changed as well. Now it has feathers instead of an eye.

            First, Adobe Photoshop CS (8.0) released in October 2003 for Mac OS X and Windows. The plug-in Camera RAW was updated to version 2.x. The Slice tool also underwent major improvements. Shadow\Highlight and Match Color commands were added. Lens Blur filter and Smart Guides were included as well. Histogram now works in real-time.

            Second, Adobe Photoshop CS2 (9.0) released in April 2005 for Mac OS X and Windows. The Camera RAW plug-in was updated to version 3.x. Smart Objects and other features were added, including: Image Warp, Lens Correction, Smart Sharpen, Vanishing Point. New Spot healing brush and Red-Eye tools were introduced. Layer editing was also improved.

            Third Adobe Photoshop CS3 (10.0) is marketed with three main components of improvement over previous versions: "Work more productively, edit with unrivalled power, and composite with breakthrough tools." New features propagating productivity include streamlined interface, improved Camera Raw, better control over print options, enhanced PDF support, and better management with Adobe Bridge. Editing tools new to CS3 are the Clone Source palette and nondestructive Smart Filters, and other features such as the Brightness/Contrast adjustment and Vanishing Point module were enhanced. The Black and White adjustment option improves users control over manual grayscale conversions with a dialog box similar to that of Channel Mixer. Compositing is assisted with Photoshop's new Quick Selection and Refine Edge tools and improved image stitching technology. CS3 Extended contains all features of CS3 plus tools for editing and importing some 3D graphics file formats, enhancing video, and comprehensive image analysis tools, utilizing MATLAB integration andDICOM file support.

            And recently, Adobe Photoshop CS4 (11.0) was announced on September 23, 2008. Adobe Photoshop CS4 features additions such as the ability to paint directly on 3D models, wrap 2D images around 3D shapes, convert gradient maps to 3D objects, add depth to layers and text, get print-quality output with the new ray-tracing rendering engine, and enjoy exporting to supported common 3D formats; the new Adjustment and Mask Panels; Content-aware scaling. ; Fluid Canvas Rotation and File display options.  The successor to Photoshop CS3, Photoshop CS4, is the first 64-bit Photoshop on consumer computers.

            From the evolution of Photoshop we know that Photoshop can create many kinds of graphics, usability, functions and features can be improve more. In the future, it might have Photoshop CS5, CS6 and so on which can support the progress of technology and that can help the people work easier, faster, and more beautiful by using an advance Photoshop.
